Remember our last post about Elsword gaining popularity in Japan? (It was actually titled “Elsword suits Japanese gamers’ tastes”). Now Elsword is targeting Vietnamese gamers. KOG, the developer of Elsword, has signed a license agreement with VNG, the largest online contents publishing company in Vietnam, to service Elsword in Vietnam starting from next year. VNG is Vietnam’s first and biggest game publisher in service of a number of major online games sweeping over Vietnam. VNG also owns Zing, the company’s own portal, engaging in various sectors of online entertainment business that include news, music, email, and social network.
Elsword is a comic-book style action MORPG with anime-like characters, speedy gameplay, and playful storytelling. KOG calls it a stylish action MORPG. Jongwon Lee, the CEO of KOG, remarked, “We expect Elsword to appeal to Vietnamese gamers with speedy action and unique characters of individuality.” Le Hong Minh, the CEO of VNG, also added, “We are looking forward to publishing Elsword in Vietnam. Elsword really is a very original and creative 3D MORPG.”
Elsword is currently in service in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. Recently Elsword carried out CBT in China and OBT in Europe, strengthening its presence in the global game market and stepping ahead to be a widely loved action game – along with Grand Chase, another popular title of KOG studio.
