NHN takes over WiseCat

On September 6th, NHN acquired a controlling stake (51%) of WiseCat, taking over its management rights. WiseCat is a mid-sized developer that created Slugger, an online baseball game. Slugger has cumulative users of 4,000,000 and PCU of 35,000, showing a good performance so far. Its popularity is expected to show a steady rise as Slugger recently started service in Taiwan and North American region.

Through this purchase, NHN is expecting to secure its lineup of quality sports games, and reinforce its capabilities as a publisher. NHN will also be able to target online sports game markets abroad.
